Scarlett is perhaps one of the most determined (and stubborn?) characters in literature. But what makes her so strong is despite whining about her problems, she learns to face them.

She might have not liked working hard, and kept complaining all the time, but we liked that anyway.

Also, there is something to learn from her attitude; since she does seem to get what she wants.
