Known as Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, Mother Teresa was an Indian of Albanian ethnicity. Mother Teresa was a missionary and an Albanian Roman Catholic religious sister. She founded the Missionaries of Charity of Calcutta, which was a religious congregation that offers help to the sick and the poor.
Mother Teresa is known for her charity work around the world. Due to her helping nature and the work she did for the poor, she was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979. Pope Francis recognized her as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church in December 2015.
Her charitable work gained her universal fame and following and millions of people all around the world recognized her as a gift for humanity.
