Donald Trump may not be great at debating one-on-one, but he was better suited than Clinton at facing real, live voters. The town hall format of the second debate suited him, and he used it to his advantage by focusing on the bigger picture, while Hillary was focused on attacking Trump.
This didn’t work out in her favor, since it only allowed Trump to gain the upper hand and get one up on Clinton.
