Respect for the Constitution is critical, and right throughout his campaign, Trump has shown utter disregard and ignorance of the Charters of Freedom. He has questioned the First Amendment rights of the media, claimed to order the military to break international law, supported the expansion of the death penalty, and proposed targeting religious minorities and immigrants through deportation.
In order to “Preserve, Protect, and Defend” the constitution, the President should also understand it. Sadly, Donald Trump doesn’t seem to care about it, and wants to do whatever he pleases.
Racial tensions have been on a serious upward trend for 8 years. As Trump is not racist (ask Jesse Jackson and anyone who has done business with him), race will not be integral in every speech from the Oval Office.
We should have a reduction in racial tension.
