The skit showcased Murphy as a grown-up Buckwheat who was still carrying the same hairstyle and outfit as he had in his childhood. The most hilarious part of the skit was when Murphy mimicked the speed of William Thomas Jr., but with a funny twist. He would regularly garble the simple words in the speech and make every laugh.

The skit became so popular that fans started to call Murphy by the name Buckwheat to the point it became a nuisance for him and the team decided to kill the character. After a couple of years, the character of Buckwheat was assassinated in a parody, which was the end of the skit for Eddie Murphy.
