The best option Rousey has right now is to agree to the fight with Tate, win the title, and retire at a high point, dodging a rematch with Holm. Retiring with the belt would be the most fitting end to an illustrious career. That’s her motivation. But therein lies the problem. Even if Rousey agrees to take on Tate in a rematch, she would be a shell of her former self. And if Tate enters the match with the same set of skills she had for the Holm fight, it can make the situation a whole lot worse for Rousey.
This makes the possibility of a rematch even more exciting for the fans, as well as the fighters. Rousey needs a shot at the title and we have held our breaths to see if that would ever happen.
