Ronda Rousey is not in a good position right now. In November 2015, she lost against Holly Holm in the main event at UFC 193. Not only did she lose her title to Holm, it was the first loss of her MMA career and only the second time she had been taken beyond the first round. On top of that, she was suspended by UFC on medical grounds. This may very well be the lowest point in her career. She admitted, in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, that she thought of killing herself after her loss. She’s not in the best position psychologically.

Tate knows that. She wants to take full advantage of that. She wants to get inside Rousey’s head. And she proved as much in her TMZ interview when she said, “I don’t even know what she’s thinking right now. It seems like her motivation to stick around was to have Travis Browne’s babies, so I don’t know. … That doesn’t sound like a very motivated comeback fighter in my opinion. Every time I’ve ever lost, my motivation is to get back up on the horse and fight someone again and work my way back to the top.”

If Tate ever meets Rousey again in the ring, she would make sure to use Rousey’s psychological state-of-mind against her. This may also be the reason she appears so willing to coax Rousey into a fight. Now is the best time.
