Obama certainly wouldn’t be endorsing someone who he thought wouldn’t be able to do a good job in the White House. He obviously met with both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, and weighed the pros and cons of both candidates, before backing the more suitable one.
His endorsement is validation that he thinks that Clinton is fit for POTUS.

Barack’s endorsement of Clinton was the assurance she was not going to win the election. Think about it – how many candidates he endorsed won; he endorsed Britain staying in the EU and we now have Brexit; he did the same for the Italian constitutional amendment which the Italians soundly rejected; he loves Merkel so the Germans is returning the favor by falling out of love with her; early on his first term he campaigned for the last summer Olympics be in the US so we had Rio. This guy who loves himself to the extreme is the touch of death to others. Thank you for endorsing Clinton.
