Lin Miaoke, captured the hearts of the entire world, when she sang ‘Ode to the Motherland’ at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics. However, officials later found out that it was actually sung by another little girl, Yang Peiyi, who wasn’t shown because she wasn’t photogenic.
The general music designer of the ceremony didn’t really apologize for his decision and had this to say about the incident:
“The reason was for the national interest. The child on camera should be flawless in image, internal feeling and expression.”
