The first thing anyone ever finds out about Katniss Everdeen is that she made a great sacrifice and went to play the hunger games in place of her sister. This selfless love and concern for her family was inspiring, until she went to the next level and became a survivor.

She totally deserves to be on this list because Katniss Everdeen rises as a revolutionary leader who stands up for what is right. She takes on a totalitarian government and challenges injustice even if going against the system is difficult. Her fighting skills are pretty neat too.
