The dishwasher is another invention that was the genius of a woman, by the name of Josephine Cochrane. Apparently Josephine was livid that her servant had damaged her fine china, and she decided to take things into her own hand.

She decided to wash her own dishes, but then quickly grew tired of it. She quickly thought about the idea of a machine that could do the job for her, and was inspired to create one! She got her patent for the dishwasher on 28^th December, 1886 and washing dishes have never been the same again!
