2) Chocolate Chip Cookies (2 of 10)
This one maybe a little bit more believable, and it doesn’t come as a massive shock that a woman was the one behind the invention of chocolate chip cookies. The entire world is grateful to Ruth Wakefield, who was a food lecturer and dietician, and came up with the brilliant idea of baking cookies for guests in 1930.
She realized that she had run out of baker’s chocolate, and thus decided to break up little pieces of her Nestle chocolate bar. She had assumed that the chocolate would melt and mix in with the flour, when it would bake, but that’s not how it happened. And that’s how the world was introduced to the first ever chocolate chip cookies. Yummy!
