One thing that is lacking in Conor McGregor’s fighting armory is the lack of quality takedowns and submission moves. He has based his fighting technique on landing huge blows and knocking the opponent out before they know what hit them.
Everyone knows that McGregor’s standup game is world-class, but when he comes up against a Jiu-Jitsu black belt, like Diaz was, he is going to get found out eventually. With this loss, opponents now will know that taking McGregor to the ground and putting on a submission move will work in their favor, but McGregor can change the game if he adds takedowns and submissions to his armory.

I have some issues with this article. 1st of all, McGregor easily made more money in losing to Diaz than you, I, and everyone reading this article will make in their entire lives combined. He probably doesn’t need any advice from you. His style is stand up striking (punches and kicks) and take down defense. Does Jon Jones need to become a better wrestler? How about Ruthless? No, that’s not their style. He lost 1 fight to a bigger man and he should be admired for handling it like a good sport.
