It is a well-known factor that McGregor simply couldn’t keep up with the intensity of the fight with Diaz and gassed out in the 2nd round, after Nate came at him with a barrage of punches. He even admitted that he was not efficient with his energy like Diaz had been, and continued to fight even when he was bloodied and bruised.
He probably didn’t help himself by not conditioning himself properly, and his lack of cardio was a big factor in why McGregor lost to Diaz. He will seriously need to work on his overall conditioning, if he really wants to stand toe-to-toe with some of the opponents that are likely to call him out after this loss.

I have some issues with this article. 1st of all, McGregor easily made more money in losing to Diaz than you, I, and everyone reading this article will make in their entire lives combined. He probably doesn’t need any advice from you. His style is stand up striking (punches and kicks) and take down defense. Does Jon Jones need to become a better wrestler? How about Ruthless? No, that’s not their style. He lost 1 fight to a bigger man and he should be admired for handling it like a good sport.
