The winner of the 2003 American Idol suffered quite a backlash from audiences when he was crowned the winner. Still, he was able to generate a huge fan following. In his fan base was Zuri McCants.
Zuri fell head over heels for his soulful voice when she first saw him singing live on the show. However, actually marrying the singer was an afterthought that was too good to be true.
A chance encounter later made the singer fall in love with her as well. She had gone to Wal-Mart to get her CD signed by him and as soon as they saw each other, sparks flew and two years later, they got married.
Unfortunately, for the young couple, their marriage did not last and they divorced after just three years of wedded bliss.
