Angelina previously adopted Maddox and Zahara as an independent parent, but as a couple, Jolie and Pitt adopted Pax in 2007. The couple adopted Pax, a 3 year old Vietnamese boy from Tam Binh orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Jolie named the adopted boy Pax Thien from Pham Quang Sang on her mother’s suggestion. His new name Pax Thien means ‘Peaceful Sky’ and is a combination of Latin and Vietnamese language.
