Wilt Chamberlain was another dominant force in basketball and he was so good that he inspired lots of rule changes by the NBA, which also widened the lane, because of his amazing physical ability.
One rule change that was inspired by Chamberlain was the rule that prevented a free-throw shooter to cross the foul line, before the ball would touch the rim. Chamberlain was so good that he would simply leap from behind the line to either dunk or lay off the ball from close range.
