3) Wayne Gretzky (3/10)
Wayne Gretzky is known as the greatest ice-hockey player of all time and was so good that they had to change a number of rules because of him. Wayne and his Oilers teammates were so great at exploiting open ice in 4 on 4 or 3 on 3 situations that the NHL changed the rule, and allowed teams to continue playing to full strength during the offsetting penalties.
This became known as the ‘Gretzky Rule’ and was criticized heavily, which forced the NHL to reverse their decision in the 1992-93 season. Gretzky also held a press conference to berate the NHL for changing rules for players to punish them for being that good!
