1) Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul Jabbar) (1/10)
Before he became Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Lew Alcindor was absolutely dominating in the most dominant team ever in the NCAA. He was a master at dunking, since he could tower over others and it was so ridiculously easy for him that the NCAA actually banned dunking before the 1967-68 season!
It may seem preposterous, and the rule actually stayed in effect till the 1976-77 season, and Lew Alcindor was the inspiration that led to the ban on dunking in basketball. The best part about the ban on dunking was that it proved to be a good thing for Alcindor, since he then worked on his sky hook, and used it as his main weapon throughout his NBA career.
He enjoyed an astonishingly successful 20 year career, which saw him score the most points in the history of NBA with 38,387 in total.
