Fred Astaire’s daughter, Ava, revealed that her legendary screen-dancing father had actually prepared for his famous ‘drunken’ dance scene in Holiday inn by drinking two shots of bourbon before the scene. That doesn’t sound like much, but the scene was finished after 8 takes, and she further revealed that Astaire would take a shot before each take!
By the time the scene finished filming Astaire was completely drunk, but could still dance better drunk than 99% of humanity could whilst being sober.
Who the hell writes this? English is not a first language, I’m guessing.
Must be pretty damn old if his book was written in 1906!
