Phlebotomists draw blood from patients, then test the blood for infection and nutritional deficiencies. You can become a phlebotomy technician in just a few weeks, but most programs take between 4 and 8 months.
The average phlebotomist makes $13.63 per hour, but workers with extensive experience or extended training earn higher salaries. You can get a certificate or degree in phlebotomy, and having either of these will improve your chances of landing a job as a phlebotomist.
