The producers of the Fast and Furious series must be beside themselves at the immense success that the franchise has got over the years. It is one of the most popular movie franchises of all time, and has 7 adrenaline fueled films that have each raked in the mega bucks at the box office.
The first film in the series was, 2001’s The Fast and the Furious, which made a modest $206.5 million but this year’s Furious 7 made more than 7 times that amount of money, raking in a jaw-dropping $1.51 billion worldwide.
It comes as no surprise to learn that another film in the series, Furious 8 is scheduled for release in 2017.
