Five sharks fought for a chunk of Charles Yim’s company after he launched the Breathometer, a portable device that displays Breathalyzer results on any compatible smartphone. Robert Herjavec, Daymond John, Lori Greiner, Mark Cuban, and Kevin O’Leary invested $650,000 in exchange for 30% of Yim’s company. Yim also received $2 million from the Cleveland Clinic, a non-profit medical facility.
In addition to tracking alcohol levels, the handheld Breathometer monitors hydration and oral health. Breathometer sales doubled from approximately $10 million in 2014 to approximately $20 million in 2015.
