The sovereign’s love of horses is well known and no ceremony marking her Birthday is complete without an element of English cavalry riding during a march past.
The birthday extravaganza was a trip though time, from her birth to the dark days of World War II (when Nazi invasion and occupation seemed all but inevitable) to her marriage to the long decades of her reign. The participants included almost a thousand horses along with the usual military bands and guests all of whom gathered there to be a part of her story.
Truly a party fit for a queen!
