The baseball based, 1992 movie is a must see for all the game lovers. But what really made the movie so awesome was Geena Davis’s compelling performance. She mastered her character so well that it felt as if she was born just for the role.
But that’s not really the case. Debra Winger was cast in the role of Dorothy Hinson but she had to cancel because of a back injury. That might have been the case or maybe not. There have been rumors that she left the project because Madonna was cast in a supporting role.
Well, whatever the reason be, we’re glad that Geena Davis got the chance to showcase her skills and to mesmerize us with her beautiful performance.
By the time Geena Davis was cast in the role, there wasn’t much time left to practice, since she had to play the role of one of the best baseball players in America. Despite the time constraint, she managed to get the hang of the game and then there was no stopping her.
