Perhaps one of the most important household items of the 20th century is super-glue, which was created by accident as well. Did you know that super-glue had actually been used to heal wounds in the Vietnam War? It was used on all those who suffered wounds and it worked as well.
Dr. Harry Coover is the man who invented the super-glue, but he had actually been trying to make a clear plastic with cyanoacrylates. However, he found out that they were incredibly sticky and decided to ditch his original plan. He later found out about the adhesive properties of the substance he had created and how it can be used to stick almost any object back together.
