The Charlie Charlie Challenge was another viral phenomenon, which broke the internet. It was meant to be a game that summoned a Mexican demon, and was played by balancing 2 pencils in the shape of a cross on a piece of paper with the words “Yes” and “No” written on them.

Then you would say “Charlie, Charlie can we play?” or “Charlie, Charlie are you here?” and wait for the top pencil to move on “Yes” or “No”. The game went viral and broke the internet, when there was even a hashtag created for it, which was then retweeted 1.6 million times!

What caused the pencils to move? Gravity! Not Charlie, the Mexican demon.
