Mosquito bites are always really annoying. However, sometimes they come with weird infections and diseases such as dengue fever. This mosquito borne illness is the result of a dengue virus.
In the year 2015, there have been a minimum of 153 confirmed dengue cases reported by the officials on Hawaii. This can be categorized as a major outbreak within the country. Vietnam had a spike of more than 58,000 cases whereas Taiwan reported more than 41,000 cases and 195 deaths.
Dengue fever results in flu-like symptoms and then causes a fever, joint pain, and rash. And while there is no specified vaccine or treatment for the disease, there is supportive care such as acetaminophen, fluids, and getting plenty of rest. While it can go away itself with sufficient care, it can also become fatal and serious resulting in dengue hemorrhagic fever.
