David Bowie released his debut album on 1^st June, 1967, and on the same day as the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. His album and singles were all massive commercial failures and he didn’t release another record for 2 years. Due to his album failing, Deram Records canceled his record contract and dropped him in April, 1968.
