The Notebook heartthrob who has made millions fall in love with him is among the celebs who did not complete high school. The charming actor dropped out of school when he was just 17. He also moved to Los Angeles from his home town in Canada.

The Canadian born actor and musician hated being a child, and reportedly had no friends until he was about 14-15 years old, and was bullied incessantly. He loved the movie Dick Tracy, and it inspired him to want to act and be the “tough guy”, eventually forming an accent based on Marlon Brando’s actual voice because he thought a Canadian accent wasn’t “tough.”

Diagnosed with ADHD and placed in a special needs classroom, his mother took him out of school and home-schooled him for a year. He said that this experience gave him a sense of autonomy that he has since never really lost, and helped him excel beyond his handicaps. Performing also helped boost his self-confidence as it was the only thing he had ever received praise for, and he eventually dropped out at age 17 to pursue acting and moved to LA to follow his dreams of becoming a leading Hollywood actor. So can we really blame him?

Ryan is among those actors who did not receive professional acting training and still excelled in the industry with his talent and looks. After appearing in ‘The Notebook’, he was penned among 50 hottest bachelors by People Magazine.
