Led by the belief that “with great power comes great responsibility,” a teenage boy starts to believe that “great power” equals the ability to sense danger for himself, crawl on walls, jump off buildings, and being able to build web-shooters (or worse, being able to continuously create the webs within your body — is no one else ever disgusted by that?).
I understand that uncle Frank was speaking of “great power” in more humane terms, but is anyone else sensing that Peter’s mind might have been addled by that spider’s bite? No… we just want a swinger helping people in need across the city while tackling his studies, looking for jobs, and a love life.
But we can’t begrudge the funny one-liners that’ll make him best buddies with dead pool.
