Daniel Day-Lewis, without a shadow of a doubt is the finest actor that Hollywood has ever seen. He is regarded by many to be the finest actor of his generation and has delivered astounding Oscar winning performances for all 3 of his Oscar wins. All of whom could have made this list.
However, his performance as Christy Brown in “My Left Foot”, which was his first Oscar win was by far one of the all-time greatest on-screen performances by any actor. As the title of the film states, he played the role of a man who suffered from cerebral palsy and only had the use of his left foot. Day-Lewis manages to deliver a performance for the ages by using only one part of his body in the play, and it is an accomplishment that no other actor could have done.
Now that’s how legends are born!
