Gene Hackman took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 1992 for his role in “Unforgiven”. The nominees that year included Jaye Davidson in “The Crying Game”, Jack Nicholson in “One Good Speech”, David Paymer in “Mr. Saturday Night Live” and Shouty McShoutsalot in “Glengarry Glen Ross”.

Everyone believed that Davidson should have won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the movie “The Crying Game”. Many thought he gave the best performance of his life, and the character he played was incredibly complex to act as well. Hackman on the other hand delivered an unmemorable performance and won an Oscar that he didn’t deserve.
