Anthony Hopkins is one of the finest Hollywood actors of his generation, but when he won the Oscar for Best Actor in 1992 for “Silence of the Lambs”, many thought it was undeserved. The reason for that was simply down to the fact that both Robin Williams and Robert De Niro had delivered amazing performances that same year.
Many people believe that Hopkins went a bit over-the-top in his role as Hannibal “The Cannibal” Lecter, and his appearance in the movie was only for a few minutes at best.
