LCD Soundsystem formed in New York City in 2002. The American rock band has found success with both local and global audiences alike. James Murphy, a producer and songwriter, is the lead singer of the band.
He is also the co-founder of DFA Records, a record label. From 2002 to 2004, the band released several singles with their debut album being nominated for a Grammy Award in 2005 for the category of Best Electronic and Dance Album and Daft Punk is Playing at My House, their single from their album received a nomination as well.
