Another undeserving movie that got the Best Picture award in 1957 was ‘Around the World in 80 Days’. Several great movies released that year were more deserving, which include, ‘Written on the Wind’, ‘Seven Samurai’, and the ‘Forbidden Planet’, amongst others. Another movie more deserving of the Oscar is ‘A Year to Remember’.

You are completely wrong about Marisa Tomei….unless you thought her oscar nods for In the Bedroom and The Wrestler were undeserving to. And by the way, the oscar is awarded for a singular performance….whether or not the subsequent material is on par is immaterial.
