Stars Wars, released in 1977, gave the world an epic story of good and evil, father against son. The movie, which span decades, revolved around the rise and fall of Darth Vader, also known as Anakin Skywalker. The movie franchise gained a large fan following for its epic storytelling format, but the character that held the most appeal with audiences was none other than Darth Vader. In order to bring the iconic villain to life on the big screen, several actors over the years were chosen to play him.
David Prowse, a former bodybuilder, played Vader in the original trilogy. Bob Anderson, a former stuntman, also donned the suit to perform action sequences in the film. James Earl Jones, an actor, provided the voice for the character while actor Sebastian Shaw played the unmasked villain in the Return of the Jedi. In the prequels, Hayden Christensen played him.
